Think: Monday Night Learning That Sticks With You

Every Monday night, our community gathers for what’s become the heartbeat of JLIC Tel Aviv: Think. And yes, the name is exactly what you’ll be doing long after you leave.

Rav Joe leads an average of 45 community members through unique ideas from the weekly parsha, but this isn’t your typical lecture. This is active engagement. Real questions. Dynamic discussion. The kind of Torah learning where everyone has a voice and fresh perspectives emerge from the conversation itself.

Here’s how the evening flows:

We start with a lite dinner because the best conversations happen over food. Then Rav Joe opens up the shiur, guiding the group through ideas that challenge, inspire, and stay with you. After the formal learning, people stick around. The conversation continues. Friendships deepen. The ideas from the evening take on new dimensions as the community unpacks them together.

Can’t make it in person? Rav Joe records each shiur, extending the reach of these discussions beyond Monday night.

The promise is simple: You’ll leave the evening thinking. About the parsha. About the ideas. About questions you didn’t know you had.

Take us at our title, or better yet, come see for yourself.

Lunch and Learn at Vine Ventures

Almost every Tuesday (check the community whatsapp chat for regular updates) at 1:30, Rav Joe runs a lunch and learn at Vine Ventures in Sarona Market. Bring your lunch, join the conversation.

It’s open to anyone in the Tel Aviv community. JLIC members come. People who work nearby come. If you’re looking for substantive discussion in the middle of your workday, this is it.

Rav Joe leads sessions on Jewish values, current events, and ideas that actually matter. The group is engaged. People ask questions, push back, share their perspectives. It’s not a lecture. It’s a conversation.

Vine Ventures sits right in Sarona Market, so it’s easy to get to. The vibe is relaxed but the topics are serious. People usually stick around after to keep talking.

No RSVP. Just show up with your lunch.
